DEBORAH
A. O'NEIL
Deb O'Neil
has 15 years experience in management, executive and organizational
development. Her most recent consulting practice has focused
on executive coaching, emotional intelligence, women and leadership,
respect in the workplace, and team-building. Deb provides
consulting services to a variety of organizations in the private,
public, and not-for-profit sectors. A sample list of organizations
with which she has worked includes Goldman Sachs, Metropolitan
Life Insurance Company, KeyCorp, Arthur Andersen, Roadway
Express, the Cleveland Municipal School District, the Long
Beach Breast Cancer Coalition, and Americans Discuss Social
Security. Executive Knowledge Works, a Chicago-based research
and consulting firm, recently named Roadway Express, with
whom Deb has worked as an executive coach for the past three
years, as one of the top five corporations employing best
practices in the field of executive coaching. Deb works not
only as an independent consultant but also as a Senior Associate
with the internationally known firm of Maryellen Lurie &
Associates, Inc.
For the
past three years, Deb has taught classes in managerial assessment
and development, leadership, and organizational behavior in
the MBA, Executive MBA, and Professional Fellows programs
at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve
University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, she has recently
completed a three-year appointment as the Editorial Assistant
for the Journal of Management Education. Deb is accredited
in the Hay/McBer Emotional Competence Inventory.
Deb is
currently a doctoral candidate in Organizational Behavior
at the Weatherhead School at Case. Her research interests
include career and life transitions, coaching and mentoring,
women leaders, and the effects of grief and loss on individuals
and organizations. She holds a Master of Science Degree in
Organizational Development from The American University in
Washington D.C., and Bachelors Degrees in Secondary Education,
Journalism and English from the University of Rhode Island.
Prior
to becoming a doctoral candidate and independent consultant,
Deb was a Senior Performance Consultant with Citibank where
she supported the management teams of the Retail and Business
& Professional Groups. Deb managed credit training for
the New York Bank and was responsible for curriculum design
and development, group facilitation and employee coaching.
